Action shouldn’t just be seen, it should be felt.  As the editor, it’s my job to give the scene a tempo and develop a kinetic momentum which turns the action into a feeling.  When the scene really starts to heat up, I always make sure that the audience has a clear understanding of geography - what is happening to who and where.  This will keep them oriented in the space and bring a greater sense of immersion.
